Transformers Bringing new life to an old show.

This film is a remake of a 1980's cartoon, which involves cars transforming in to robots. I doubt this film would have been made if it were not of the success of the Citroen advert (ice skating transformer).

The main plot of the film is that the Decepticons are in search of the Allspark, a cube that can give live to all machines of earth. If they achieve this all humans will be killed and machines rule the world. It is up to Optimus Prime and the rest of the Autobots to save the day.

The film opens in an army base, which is then attacked by a Decepticon, who tries to download information off the government network. This is spotted and the computers shut down. To prevent word spreading out about this, the transformer kills everyone in the camp, apart from a few who manage to escape. Another attempt at downloading the files is attempted in air force one, which is again monitored and controlled.

The information they are looking for is the location of Megatron, the Decepticon leader. The Autobots manage to locate Sam, who has the blueprints to this location and try to destroy the allspark (which is what the Decepticons are looking for). Whilst escaping with it, they are ambushed by other transformers. During the battle Sam is instructed to give the allspark to a helicopter, but it is destroyed before he has chance. Optimus Prime tells him to push it in his chest, sacrificing him, but instead inserts it in to Megatrons, killing the Decepticon leader.

I think the film will have more appeal to the fans of the original show. They may like to see the updated version of an old show, but I wasn't that appealed to see it. Opinions between people may differ but I wasn't to keen on the film 7/10
