REVISED plans for a church hall have found favour with planners, providing construction methods can be agreed to safeguard trees.
An application for the development at the Church of the Holy Cross at Swainby, near Stokesley, was twice deferred by the North York Moors National Park Authority as members said they needed more information.
Amended proposals will go before the planning committee on Thursday, when officers are expected to recommend approval subject to finalising details.
A report to the meeting says that no-dig construction methods would ensure mature trees on the site were not harmed.
A membrane and resin aggregate would be used to minimise any impact on roots, and kerbs would prevent traffic damage.
The hall at the grade II-listed church would replace the current former school hall, which has planning permission for conversion to two houses.
