schoolboy Ewan Shepherd is a real water lover - and he's just proved it three times over.
The 15-year-old, a pupil at Cundall Manor, Cundall, near Thirsk, has achieved his open water diving qualification, stage three of his Royal Yachting Association dinghy award, and his British Canoe Union two-star kayaking certificate.
Ewan, whose home is at Hutton Sessay, near Thirsk, is passionate about outdoor pursuits.
His interest began with cricket and rugby - he plays cricket for his local team, Sessay under-17s, and rugby with York RUFC.
When the school also offered water sports, he decided to extend his interest to include sailing, kayaking and diving.
Head of upper school Damian Chubb said: "Sport and outdoor pursuits are an integral part of school life here at Cundall. Every pupil is encouraged to take part.
"Ewan has done tremendously well, and I'm sure will go on to achieve even more."
