A TALENTED cellist is to perform a recital this week as part of a series showcasing the work of young musicians.
Anna Menzies, from Newcastle, is to perform at the Durham Light Infantry Museum and Durham Art Gallery, on Sunday, at 2pm, as part of the Durham Young Musicians programme of concerts.
She will play a programme that will include Bach's Solo Suite Number Five and Suite for Cello Number One, by Benjamin Britten.
Anna began to play the cello at the age of ten and, after attending Chetham's School of Music, in Manchester, went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
As a soloist and chamber musician, she has performed in concerts and festivals across the UK and Europe.
Her interests range from early to contemporary music.
Tickets for the event are available at the door, priced £4.35 for adults, £3.25 for adult concessions and £2.45 for children, or £2.15 for season ticket holders.
