YOUNG rock and pop musicians are being invited to take part in training courses.
The School of Rock and Pop reopens for the school year in Durham City on Monday, September 17, and is looking for singers, rock musicians and brass players aged 11 to 18.
Tutor Andrew Meadowcroft said: "Last year, we organised our biggest ever rock festival, achieved the highest marks in the North-East for music grades and raised more than £5,000 for local hospices.
"We are planning an even more ambitious year for our students."
He added: "The secret to our students' success is building confidence and showing them how to play the best of present and past rock and pop music.
"This is the way we prepare them to rock out in front of screaming audiences, both locally and regionally."
Sessions will take place at Belmont Community Arts College, on Monday and Wednesday evenings. For a free information pack or invitation to a taster session, ring 0845-234-0195.
