A WOMAN was mugged when she walked home in West Dyke Road, Redcar, on Wednesday morning.
The woman, who lives locally, was on the footpath which is adjacent to the bus stop near Somerfields when she was attacked.
She had just been to the Bells store, at about 5.30am, when she was forced to the floor and her handbag was stolen from her by two men.
One man pushed her down and snatched her handbag before passing it to the second man and they both ran off in the direction of Egton Close.
The first man is described as white, aged 18 to 20, 5ft 6in and of a medium build. He was wearing a baseball cap and a grey and black striped sweatshirt.
The second man is described as being similar in appearance, however, the victim could not recall any description of his clothing.
