VILLAGERS hope to beat last year's total of £500 when they join the annual World's Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Jenny Veitch, of Gilling West, near Richmond, will host the event, in the village hall, from 10am to noon on Friday, September 28, to coincide with the national campaign.
The village raised £500 last year, and it is hoped that by selling cakes and cards and holding a raffle, the sum can be beaten this year.
There will also be a creche.
Mrs Veitch said: "I know friends affected by cancer have found Macmillan to be a very important force, helping them and their families through a difficult time."
