A YOUNG boy was left shaken, though unhurt, after he was approached by a man in woodland, near the village of Dunsdale.
The ten-year-old from the village was playing at the rear of Park House Farm, at the top of Yearby Bank, when he heard rustling in the bushes.
A man appeared, telling the lad to "come here".
The boy began to run away and the man started to follow, but turned back into the woodland when the youngster's older brother appeared on his motorcycle.
The man is described as black, tall, medium build, about 35 with blue eyes and a bald or shaved head. He also had facial stubble and spoke with a local accent.
