FIRE brigade officers dashed to the rescue of dog which became stuck in the middle of a lake tonight.
The terrier, named Daisy, jumped into the lake in South Park, Darlington, to chase some geese at about 7pm.
After swimming around for some time, the dog became tired and climbed onto an island in the middle of the lake, but was unable to get off.
Firefighters from the Darlington station arrived and called for assistance from their colleagues in Bishop Auckland, who arrived with the brigade's emergency rescue boat.
Daisy was retrieved and returned unharmed to its grateful owners.
