THE DRAMATIC North-East landmark of Bamburgh Castle is set to compete for the title of Britain's Favourite View.
Bamburgh is one of four finalists, the others being Wast Water in the Lake District, the Three Cliffs Bay on the Gower Peninsula in South Wales, and the Mountains of Mourne in Northern Ireland.
Over the last five weeks viewers have been voting after watching 16 celebrities showcasing vistas close to their hearts on ITV1's Britain's Favourite View.
Now the results of the votes have been counted and the four celebrities with the most popular views have been revealed as Coronation Street's Sally Whitaker with Wast Water; Welsh songbird Katherine Jenkins with Three Cliffs Bay; Janet Street Porter with Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland and former Formula One racer Eddie Irvine with the Mountains of Mourne.
The four will be joining series presenter Sir Trevor McDonald for the live final on tomorrow (Sunday) at 8pm, during which the public will be able to vote for the view they believe deserves to be crowned as Britain's favourite. Voting phone lines will be open from the start of the programme, closing at the end of part three before the winner is announced in the final part.
Sir Trevor said: "This series has really enthralled me as we have followed the personalities on their journeys throughout some of the most stunning views in Britain.
"It has opened my eyes to corners of Britain I, until now, knew only by name or reputation.
"The four final views are all magnificent and each deserving of the title in their own way."
