PEOPLE are being invited to pedal their way to good health at an event this weekend.
County Durham Primary Care Trust's (PCT) Get Active team, at Easington is staging the family health cycle ride tomorrow.
The event, which is aiming to encourage more people to cycle more often, will begin at 10am outside Haswell Community Centre.
The route has been devised to suit everyone, regardless of age and ability.
The PCT can provide a limited number of bikes to people who do not have cycles but would like to take part.
All those attending must wear a helmet and these, too, can be provided by booking.
Stewart Doyle, from Get Active's, said: "A cycle ride is a simple idea that enables the whole family to come together and participate in an activity which can be fun and full of health benefits.
"The event is suitable for people who are new to cycling, or perhaps returning to cycling after many years.''
Anyone wanting to take part, or who needs to arrange for a cycle or helmet, can telephone 0191-569-2847.
