A COMMUNITY centre is holding a series of car boot and table top sales to raise money for toilets.
This month people will be able to rummage for a bargain at Burnopfield Community Centre, in Derwentside.
Chairman of the centre, Elizabeth Minto, from Dipton, said she hoped the sales would raise about £3,000. It will go towards the £6,000 refurbishment of the toilet block.
Mrs Minto said: "The old toilets are looking a bit old-fashioned and we could really do with some new ones.
"We thought this would be a good way to raise some money.
"People like to have a good old rummage and one man's junk is another man's treasure."
The first sale is being held on Sunday, from 11am to 3.30pm.
It costs £5 for a table, £7 for a car and £10 for a van.
