SCOOTER lovers have helped raise funds for an ill child by taking their turn on a 51-year-old Lambretta as it tours the country.
The bike left Redcar yesterday morning to make its way along the coast, with a member of the Lambretta Club of Great Britain on board, to be handed over to its sister club in Scotland, at Berwick.
The 1956 Lambretta Model D 150cc machine, which has a top speed of 45mph, left Lands End on August 21, on its 4,000-mile journey round the coast.
The trip is to raise awareness and funds for The Robert Sebbage Appeal. The 14 year-old boy, from Hampshire, suffers from a rare disease called neuropathic bowel disease.
All money raised will go towards helping him get the treatment he needs.
