A HOUSING company helped make it a day to remember for residents of a housing estate.
Coast and Country Housing presented £500 to people who live on the Westfield Estate, in Loftus, at its annual fun day.
Andrea Laverick, community project co-ordinator at Coast and Country Housing, said: "We are always willing to look at funding requests which enable local enterprise and initiative and are happy to support activities which help develop and encourage community spirit, promote social inclusion and support regeneration.
"The Westfield Fun Day is a perfect example of the type of events that we are particularly keen to support."
During the event, youngsters played on a giant inflatable slide, had their faces painted and danced to the disco on a Youth Improvement Project bus.
Westfield is the subject of a £22m regeneration proposal by Coast and Country.
A detailed consultation has been taking place with residents over the plan, which will lead to an extensive transformation of the Sixties estate.
It will be the biggest development in the history of Loftus.
