A COUPLE have notched up another milestone in the village where they first met 70 years ago, and still live today.
Norman and Gwen Hodgson celebrated their platinum - 70th - wedding anniversary at the Red Lion, Trimdon.
Scores of family and friends helped the couple to celebrate, only yards from the Trimdon Labour Club, where the couple celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary, ten years ago.
The couple met in Trimdon and were married in the village's St Mary Magdalene Church.
Mr Hodgson, 94, worked as a blacksmith at Trimdon Grange Colliery and Fishburn Colliery. Mrs Hodgson, 87, worked at Winterton Hospital.
Both have hobbies that keep them fit and healthy. Mr Hodgson still walks and is a keen gardener.
Mrs Hodgson enjoys knitting and baking. The couple have three children and seven grandchildren.
