PEOPLE can discover Middlesbrough during a packed programme for this year's Heritage Open Days.
Twenty-three properties will be open between Thursday and Sunday this week.
Venues include Acklam Hall, in Hall Drive, which is Middlesbrough's only grade I-listed building.
People will also be able to climb Middlesbrough's Transporter Bridge, enjoy a guided tour of the restored Albert Park, celebrate Middlesbrough Theatre's 50th birthday and see Captain Cook's birth registration.
The activities are free and do not need booking, although not all are open to the throughout the four days. For more information, visit www.heritageopendays.org

The open day programme coincides with BBC Tees Valley Proms in the Park in Middlesbrough's Centre Square on Saturday.
