FORTY years of service to the people of Guisborough were recognised when a councillor was presented with a thank-you award.
The Rotary Club of Guisborough and Great Ayton rewarded Councillor Ann Franklin for her work for the International Association that hosted hundreds of guests for the Teesside Eisteddfod town-twinning from the Sixties through to the Eighties.
Coun Franklin, who served as president, chairwoman, vice-chairwoman, secretary and accommodation manager for more than 15 years, was presented with a Community Service Award.
She is also a founder member of the Guisborough Museum management committee and her other interests include the Town Pride organisation, Road Safety Committee, the Christmas lights and summer flower basket projects.
She said: "All the things that I have been involved in have only been possible because many people have given their time and support. This award is really for all of them."
