MORE than 100 paintings spanning 12 years of the history of the River Tees are to go on display.
Journey of the Tees, by Stockton artist Brian Humble, will be at Billingham Art Gallery from Monday until October 5.
The exhibition of watercolours shows the diversity of the River Tees, from the raging torrents and waterfalls at Cauldron Snout, in County Durham, through to the industrial areas of the Tees mouth.
Councillor Mary Womphrey, Stockton Borough Council's cabinet member for arts, leisure and culture, said: "Brian Humble has used his own style to capture the unique geography, geology and history of the river, from its birth in the Pennines down to the North Sea."
Admission is free and many paintings will be on sale. The gallery is open from Monday to Friday, from 10am until 4.30pm. For more details call 01642-527911 or visit www.stockton.gov.uk/ museums
