PLANS which could bring major improvements to parts of the Wear Valley District are being considered by councillors tonight.
The council will consider a shareout of £3.4m from the 2007/2008 capital programme.
The money has come from land sales. It will be spent improving town centres andproviding better sports facilities for children.
Grants could also be given to modernise flats above shops. Because the cash has been raised by selling community assets, it will be reinvested in the same areas.
