ORGANISERS of a thrifty re-shoot of the famous one-take Redcar seafront scene from romantic war drama Atonement are on the lookout for volunteers to relive the movie all over again.

As part of the build up to the 2018 Festival of Thrift, artist and filmmaker Richard DeDomenici has been commissioned to make a ‘Redux’ version of the five-minute Dunkirk scene from the 2007 Oscar winning film starring North-East volunteers.

Filming takes place on September 11, in the same spot on Redcar beach used in the original film.

The Festival would like to hear from any volunteers to be on screen and off-screen.

The opportunity is open to everyone over the age of 16.

The Festival of Thrift’s Atonement Redux will be premiered on September 21 as part of the event's launch, and will be shown several times during the festival weekend.
