A teenager was rescued by police officers when it seemed he might jump from the top of a Darlington town centre car park.
Officers were called to the Cornmill multi-storey shortly before noon today when the 17-year-old was spotted on CCTV cameras.
Fearing he would jump, officers tried to talk him down but he became more and more agitated.
Two officers eventually grabbed him and led him to safety.
Crown Street, in which the car park stands, was closed for 40 minutes during the incident.
The teenager was taken into police custody and was undergoing a medical assessment.
