AN exhibition of work by Yorkshire artists opens in Ripon today.
Chiaroscuro, at The Gallery, features pieces by Lesley Coates Jones, Ken Jones, Angela Keeble and Peter Wray.
Miss Coates Jones is inspired by landscape, organic and manmade forms, and the links between painting and language.
Ken Jones' abstract work uses collage techniques, while Angela Keeble draws on memories of places she has visited to combine colour, shapes and textures in her paintings.
Peter Wray's prints display his love of print-making, and the exhibition includes one of his plates to demonstrate the details which go into its preparation.
Daniel Hornsey, of The Gallery, said: "These four artists display several different aspects of how artists use light and shade to achieve widely differing effects.
"We are very pleased to be able to display these works for the month of September."
Also on display are ceramics, jewellery and furniture by Yorkshire makers.
