LADIES watching their waistline will soon be able to enjoy a night out guilt free.
A North-East businesswoman has come to the rescue of figure-conscious girls, by inventing the first sugar-free alcopop.
Lorraine Griffiths created Baby Pink and Baby Blue after years of working in bars and clubs.
Ms Griffiths realised many of her female customers were looking for an alternative to mainstream alcopops.
She said: "In my experience of working in the bar industry more and more women were asking about amount of sugar in drinks so it seemed only logical to find them an alternative.
"I did quite a lot of research and then worked with a number of different providers to set up the new brand.
"There has already been a lot of interest and a number of major operators have agreed to stock it."
The drinks are wine-based and have a four per cent strength. Baby Blue is blueberry flavour and Baby Pink is citrus lemon.
"We are also looking at developing other drinks ranges which I hope will also come on line if Baby Pink and Baby Blue is a success," Ms Griffiths said.
The drinks, produced by Ms Griffiths' new Alcohol Brands company, will be available from later this month (SEPT).
