AN RAF gunner was killed in an explosion in southern Afghanistan today, the Ministry of Defence confirmed.
The serviceman, from 51 Squadron, RAF Regiment, was killed alongside a civilian interpreter in the blast during a routine patrol around Kandahar Airfield, the main hub for allied forces flying in and out of southern Afghanistan.
