LEICESTER'S on-loan Sunderland defender Clive Clarke is currently in a "stable" condition after collapsing during the Carling Cup tie at Nottingham Forest.
The second-round clash was abandoned at half-time after the 27-year-old, who joined on loan from the Black Cats this month, had lost consciousness in the dressing room, regained consciousness following treatment from paramedics and then been taken to hospital.
A statement on the Leicester website said: "Leicester can confirm that defender Clive Clarke is currently in a 'stable' condition after the player collapsed during the Carling Cup clash against Nottingham Forest. Clarke will be kept in hospital overnight to monitor his progress."
