POLICE have spoken of their dismay at a weekend of crashes which left two motorcyclists dead and four seriously injured.
A 43-year-old motorcyclist died in a collision with a tractor and trailer on the old A1 near Selby Fork on Monday and a 62-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car near Shipton by Beningbrough on Sunday morning.
Four other bikers were seriously hurt in accidents at Spofforth, Helmsley, Beckwithshaw and Hellifield, near Skipton, on Sunday.
Adam Briggs, Deputy Chief Constable of North Yorkshire Police, said the force would be continuing with its hard-line road safety campaign in the wake of the crashes.
