YOUNG bookworms are hoping their novel approach to brightening up their library grows on judges.
Grangetown Library's Youth Forum is competing with four rivals elsewhere in the country in a public vote to decide the winner of a national Love Libraries award.
The Youth Forum project gives young people the opportunity to have their say about what's hot and what's not in their local community and get actively involved in making it a safer place to live.
Members of the forum have designed an outdoor garden and play area with plants and seating to make the library a more enjoyable place to spend time.
The winner of the Love Libraries award will receive a trophy and £2,000 towards their particular project.
Voting closes on Friday, September 14, with the winner being announced at an awards ceremony in London on October 3.
