PERFORMANCES by UK breakdancing champions rounded off a weekend of fun and festivities in Durham yesterday.
The entertainment marked the opening of the Walkergate complex, built by Durham City Council and Amec.
Events included street theatre by Swank, face-painting and balloon-modelling.
The D3 Festival - a celebration of the best street theatre, live music and family entertainment - was held at Millennium Place and Walkergate in Durham, throughout the weekend.
Kate James, events co-ordinator for Durham City Vision, said: "We are really pleased the way the festival has come together this year.
"The Vision team is delighted to be both promoting local talent and bringing international acts of the highest calibre to the city.
"Along with the rest of the D3 partners, we hope to make this an annual fixture in the Durham calendar."
The Walkergate complex marked its opening with the ribbon being cut at midday by deputy mayor Councillor Grenville Holland.
