HUNDREDS of travellers met in a North-East coastal town for a weekend of horse trading.
The Seaham Horse Fair, in east Durham, included a colourful parade of gipsy caravans and racing traps along the seafront yesterday.
Most of the horse fair was held on private land.
An Easington District Council spokesman said a few visitors to the event had camped on land at the public car park, which is used by visitors near Seaham Hall Hotel.
A legal direction to leave the site was issued to the travellers
