DETECTIVES are treating the death of a man in Newcastle city centre early this morning as suspicious.
A police spokesman said officers were called to Carliol Square at 4.30am where they found the body of a man, believed to be aged about 30.
The spokesman said: "The death is being treated as suspicious, although the investigation is in its early stages and a post-mortem examination is being held this morning."
