SHOOTING for the fourth and final short film in a series made by youngsters from Stockton will take place next week.
North-East film-maker Reuben Abraham, 36, is directing Not Cricket, a tale of a young spin bowler who has to face up to the challenge of a rival.
The film is part of a joint initiative involving Stockton Borough Council's arts development team and Stockton Arc. Funding has come from First Light Movies, the UK Film Council and Youthbank.
The cast is made up of local young actors, while other Stockton youngsters taking part in the scheme are responsible for writing the scripts, filming and editing.
Their finished work will be premiered at Stockton Arc in November.
Scenes are being shot in the grounds of Our Lady and St Bede School, in Bishopton Road West, Stockton, on Tuesday, and Mr Abraham is appealing for extras, aged between eight and 18, to make up the crowd.
Filming takes place from 9am until 4pm, and under-15s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Due to the tight budget of the film, extras cannot be paid and will need to bring a lunch.
Councillor Mary Womphrey, Stockton council's cabinet member for arts, culture and leisure, said: "I hope that a lot of people will come to Reuben's aid and help make his film a great success. It's a fun thing to take part in and I'm sure they'll all have a great time."
