HOMES PLAN
ON reading your report about the proposed development of the old chapel in Trimdon Station for housing (Echo, Aug 21) I would like to add that Trimdon Foundry Parish Council met in July and unanimously objected to this proposal as it was felt that the traffic problems our village is already suffering would be increased and also that three-storey townhouses are completely out of context in our village.
We are not against new building and are all for regeneration, but our infrastructure and traffic problems must be addressed.
As yet we have no decision from our planning authority on this, but it is hoped common sense will prevail.
Jim Grigg, Vice-Chairman, Trimdon Foundry Parish Council.
