A TOWN centre post office is to move 120 yards to offer customers a better service.
Thirsk Co-op has a store on either side of the town's market place and plans to shut its store on The Darrowby Inn side.
This shop also accommodates the town's post office, which will transfer to the Co-op store across the Market Place.
The Post Office closes at 5.30pm on Thursday, September 27, in its old premises and opens at its new site at 9am on Saturday, September 29.
The new branch will offer the full range of Post Office services and goods.
Post Office field change advisor Bill Earnshaw said: "We are committed to maintaining a presence in this part of the town and this move enables us to provide an enhanced service."
