Despite having the lions share of possesion the Masons Arms could not break down the Crook Bar 56 defence as the sides shared the points in a goaless draw. The home side, new this season to the first division after gaining promotion, had set out their stall to defend in numbers then looked to catch the Masons on the break. Wit the Masons playing a neat crisp passing game the football was good up to the 18 yard box but the final ball was not good enough to trouble the home keeper too much. The only time he had to realy work was from a couple of free kicks from Dean Maddison but apart from that he didnt have too much to do. It was the same at the other end as the pace of the Bar 56 forwards caused problems but once again there was no end product, leaving Matthew Levitt in the Masons goal with a fairly easy 90 minutes.
On reflection it was a good point as the newcomers to the first division will cause teams problems throughout the season and after they beat last years league champions the previous week.
On a sour note Masons Arms trusty midfielder Tom Fothergill was carried off with what looks like a bad ankle injury that could keep him out for a few weeks. We wish him a speedy recovery
