JEWELLERY and sentimental furniture have been stolen during a burglary in Darlington.
The burglary is said to have occurred at around 12.20pm on Monday at a farmhouse on the outskirts of Darlington close to the A67 junction with the A66.
The offenders allegedly broke into the house and stole a drawer full of jewellery.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have been out walking in the area to contact them and anyone who may come across the drawer as it is part of a Georgian Mahogany chest of drawers that is of sentimental value to the owner.
Amongst the items of jewellery stolen were a gold chain with pearls and gold leaf hanging in centre, a number of pairs of gold hoop earrings with pearls attached, and a pearl and diamante elasticated bracelet.
Anyone with information is asked to quote 101.
