A TRADITIONAL feast will take place in a Dales village at the weekend.
West Witton Feast, near Leyburn, is based on the ancient custom of the Burning of Bartle -an effigy that will be paraded through the village from 9pm on Saturday.
The village hall will be open at 9am that morning for entries to the produce show. Judging will begin at 10.30am, and the hall will be open to the public from 1pm.
Refreshments will be available at the church, and a fell race up Pen Hill will start at 6pm.
On Sunday, events will start at noon with a children's fancy dress competition and sports, stalls and a jazz band.
