A CARE home manager denied stealing money from a resident with learning difficulties when she appeared in court yesterday.
Mary Adamson, 49, of Attwood Terrace, in Spennymoor, is accused of the theft of £2,280 belonging to Derek Bell.
Mr Bell was a resident of Tudhoe Care Homes, which accommodates up to six adults with learning disabilities, at the time of the alleged offences, said to have taken place between September 27 and December 22 last year.
Mrs Adamson, who owned and ran the home, pleaded not guilty at South Durham Magistrates' Court, in Newton Aycliffe.
Magistrates declined jurisdiction and adjourned the case to October 17, when it will be committed to crown court.
She was released on unconditional bail until that date.
