A SEDGEFIELD man will alternate between selling cars and saving lives after landing his two dream jobs in the same week.
By day, Mark McCracken, 29, is a sales executive at the Jennings SEAT car showroom, in Middlesbrough.
But at night, he is on stand-by as a firefighter for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service.
From a very young age, he always wanted to be a firefighter, but only recently gained the confidence to undergo the brigade's theory and physical tests.
The day after Mr McCracken was offered his job as a car salesman, he received an acceptance letter from the fire service.
He said: "I was over the moon, it was like a dream come true. The best aspects of working for Jennings are the atmosphere in the showroom, the fact that the staff are so friendly and you get to meet different people.
"The rewarding part about working for the fire service is the fact that you're giving something back into the community and helping save lives, which is an incredible feeling."
