A MOTORCYCLE passenger was still critically ill last night, seven days after he was seriously injured on a country road.
Three people were taken to hospital following a crash near the village of Cornsay Colliery, in County Durham, on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 15.
A black 1000cc Suzuki GSXR bike, with rider and pillion passenger on board, had overtaken two cars on Hedley Hill Lane when it crashed with a black Vauxhall Corsa that had pulled out of Ivesley Lane.
The pillion passenger, a 35-year-old man from the Bishop Auckland area, was airlifted to Newcastle General Hospital.
His condition was last night described as "critical but stable".
The motorcycle rider, a 38-year-old man from the Bishop Auckland area, suffered a fractured leg and pelvis.
The driver of the car, a woman from the nearby village of Waterhouses, suffered shock and whiplash injuries.
