A TEENAGER mother who was knifed to death in the street has been buried in a pink coffin.

Samantha Madgin, 18, was stabbed repeatedly on her first night out since her baby son, Callum, was born.

Pallbearers carried her coffin, decorated with a floral tribute, from St Bernardette's RC Church, in Wallsend, North Tyneside, yesterday.

Ms Madgin, of Merlin Crescent, Wallsend, was knifed to death on August 2.

She was confronted in a back-lane disturbance involving two groups after visiting nearby Albert Avenue with friends.

From the family business, The Dorset Arms Hotel, in Wallsend, Ms Madgin's grandmother Eileen Campbell said the family was bearing up.

The funeral was followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

* A 15-year-old girl has been charged with the murder of Ms Madgin. The teenager was also charged with affray in connection with the incident.

Terrence Davidson, 18, and David Kerr, 35, both from Walker, Newcastle, are also charged with affray.
