A TRADITIONAL family garden party will be held at the weekend to raise money towards protecting open spaces.
Richmondshire Open Spaces Appeal (Rosa) hosts the event at Temple Lodge, in Richmond, on Sunday, from 2pm to 5pm.
There will be guided tours of the landscaped garden, dance displays, spinning demonstrations, a treasure hunt, face-painting, stalls and cream teas.
Money raised will go towards buying and managing 88 acres of open space around Richmond, which the charity has bought from the district council.
Event organiser Jean Robertson said: "The Rosa garden party has become a popular annual event and this year we are delighted to have the chance to enjoy the delightful surroundings of Temple Lodge. There should be something for everyone to enjoy, with lots of entertainment geared towards children and adults alike.
"We are looking forward to a wonderful afternoon and are very grateful to Richard and Morven Lawson for opening up their garden.
"It isn't often that people have the opportunity to visit this beautiful place, which enjoys a secluded setting so close to the centre of town."
Admission is free and, if wet, activities will take place in the town hall.
The pedestrian entrance to Temple Lodge is on Cravengate, opposite the entrance to Newbiggin, and parking is available on Newbiggin or at Nun's Close car park.
