FUNDRAISERS collected more than £2,000 to help buy Thirsk a new set of Christmas lights.
Thirsk Ladies Chamber of Trade boosted funds for this year's Christmas display with its fifth annual summer barbecue.
The event was held in the grounds of Thirsk Hall.
Guests enjoyed a barbecue and a disco until the early hours, with the funds boosted by sponsors.
Fundraising ideas are needed by the ladies' group to help boost this year's Christmas lights appeal further.
Other events planned are an auction of promises, to be held next month, a Clarins evening, and a dinner dance in November.
