ONE of the region's theatres is raising its curtain for an open day on Bank Holiday Monday.
The Georgian Theatre Royal, in Richmond, is to hold a fun-filled day of free guided tours, street theatre and circus acts.
Balloon launches to fundraise for the theatre will open and close the event, which takes place next Monday, between 10am and 4pm.
Indoors and out, there will be numerous competitions, displays, stalls and games in the Friary Gardens, the theatre's exhibition area and the studio space in Friar's Wynd.
Face-painting, lawn games and a bouncy castle, candy floss and a cafe will entice visitors to join in the fun.
Youth theatre performances will also take place on stage.
Marketing officer Emma Vallance said: "The bank holiday is a great opportunity to welcome locals and holidaymakers to the theatre during the daytime.
"It's a fun way to find out more about the theatre and to see behind the scenes - plus you can find out how to get involved as a performer or volunteer."
