RESIDENTS of Willington discovered more about their town at a neighbourhood fun day.
The event, held at Willington Resource Centre, aimed to promote the area and inform local people of all services available to them.
Organisations attending the event included Connexions, Durham NET, Durham and Darlington Fire Service, Groundwork West Durham and Darlington and 2D volunteer and community network and Neighbourhood Watch.
Karen Bevan, from the Crook Community Partnership, who helped organise the event, said: "We have had similar events in Tow Law, Dene Valley, Coundon and Leeholme, all of which were really successful.
"Our aim is to promote the area, let people know what services are available to them and give them advice on community issues."
Visitor Anna Hargreaves, 37, from Willington, said: "This is a really useful event, because many people just aren't aware of what is going on around here and it gives them a chance to discuss any issues or problems with professionals who can help."
