FEARS surrounding foot-and-mouth disease have led to the cancellation of livestock classes at the 101st Farndale Show.
There were fears the North York Moors show itself could be cancelled due to the recent outbreak.
But a crisis meeting by the show's committee has now decided the event will go ahead on August 27. However, all livestock classes featuring cows, sheep and goats plus the hound trail have been cancelled.
Horse and pony classes plus those involving poultry, rabbits and ferrets will still go ahead along with non-animal classes.
There will also be a wide range of other attractions, including a tug-of-war, bale-rolling, a bird of prey display and egg-throwing.
The showground is at Church House, Farndale, and the event starts at 10am with entry £3 for adults and £1 for children.
Car parking on the showfield is £3, but there is also free parking close by.
