STOLEN: A post box similar to the one that has gone missing
THIEVES have stolen a Victorian post box from an isolated beauty spot.
The box, which is still used, was taken from Linton Falls, near Grassington, close to Skipton, North YOrkshire, between 5pm on Saturday and 8am on Monday.
The box has the logo VR on its front, along with the identification number 141.
Sergeant Andy Gill, of Skipton police, said: "This is a rare and unusual theft and we assume someone has taken it as a collector's item. It may have contained a small amount of mail awaiting collection."
