A CONVICTED sex offender who was on the run from police today handed himself in.
Joseph Taylor, 27, was arrested at York railway station at 9.15am, a South Yorkshire Police spokesman said.
He absconded from a supervised hostel on Monday.
Taylor, who was released from prison on licence three weeks ago, was last seen at Sheffield railway station just before 9pm on Monday.
CCTV footage showed him at the station with Bailey, 58, who absconded from a supervised hostel in Rotherham.
Taylor had been accommodated at a different hostel in York.
Police warned the public both men had previous convictions for sexual offences against children and posed a high risk.
A force spokesman said: "Joseph Taylor, aged 27, was arrested at York railway station this morning at 9.15am, where he handed himself in to officers."
Taylor is in police custody, the spokesman added.
Police also last night arrested a second paedophile who had disappeared with Taylor. William Bailey, 58, was detained at London's Victoria Station.
