A 62-YEAR-OLD man has been told to prepare for a prison sentence after being convicted of a string of sex attacks dating back 30 years.
David Wardle was found guilty of two indecent assaults and four counts of indecency with a child at the end of a three-day trial on Thursday.
Wardle, of Avon Close, Thornaby, near Stockton, was remanded in custody until he is sentenced at Teesside Crown Court next month.
A pre-sentence report will be prepared by probation workers and a medical report will be compiled before Wardle is dealt with on September 21.
The Recorder of Middlesbrough, Judge Peter Fox, QC, told Wardle, who has a heart condition: "You know that you face an immediate prison sentence."
He added: "I am not going to make up my mind as to its length until I know more about you, and that includes your present health."
Wardle, who committed the offences between 1975 and 1977, was cleared of two further charges of indecent assault and one of indecency.
