TRIBUTES were paid last night to a tragic teenager found hanged in her bedroom.
Kelsey Jade Winter, 13, from Marwood Drive in Barnard Castle was found on Sunday afternoon.
She died while her pregnant mother and step-father were cooking lunch downstairs.
Last night Kim Harding, the wife of local clergyman Reverend Alec Harding, said: "I passed on the news to my husband who wishes to extend his sympathies to Kelsey's family at this sad time.
Revd Harding conducted the funeral of Kelsey's uncle, Mark Maughan, a 30-year-old ambulance technician from Barnard Castle who died in a car crash last year.
Mrs Harding added: "Our daughter was in Kelsey's year group at school and it is a very tragic loss."
An inquest into Miss Winter's death held yesterday (Tues) at Crook coroners office was adjourned by Durham coroner Andrew Tweddle.
