THE grounds of Kirkleatham Museum, near Redcar, saw some real fun and games at the weekend.
Nearly 5,000 people flocked to the two-day family fun event, which featured a craft fair with 30 stalls, a bouncy castle, face painting, live music, miniature steam train rides, remote control car displays and children's craft activities.
Yesterday, a collection of vintage and classic cars and motorcycles took centre stage.
The pre-1960 car class was won by Robin and Pam Hind, of Sadberge, near Darlington, with their 1958 Jaguar XK150, while the post-1960 winner was a 1978 MG Midget, owned by Trevor Fowler, of Scarborough.
A children's competition to guess how many balloons were packed inside a Harry Potter-type Ford Anglia was won by Jacob Storey, from Redcar, who was spot-on with his calculation of 257.
Alan Pearce, the museum's curator, said: "We are absolutely delighted with the weekend - it has been fantastic."
The weekend's entertainment ran alongside the museum's Memories of Childhood exhibition, which features toys, games and familiar objects from every decade from the Fifties to the present day.
